The Irish Harp Centre is the home base for the Irish Harp College and the Irish Harp Centre Music School .

Located in Castleconnell, County Limerick in one of Ireland’s most scenic and well preserved traditional villages on the banks of the Shannon River, the Centre offers music tuition from beginner to professional levels, regular weekly lessons, sessions and workshops from September to June, classes for Junior and Leaving Cert Music (state school exams), and a wide range of residential courses (weekend, week, month, trimester and one to three year studentships and apprenticeships) with a comprehensive summerschool programme throughout the months of July and August for harpers and musicians of all standards, ages and abilities.
In addition, the Irish Harp Centre is a stage school for Irish music with the prime focus on the Irish harp. It is the home of the Irish Harp Orchestra (professional touring stage production), the National Harp Orchestra, Harp Concerto’s 13 and 6, the Carolan Harp Quartet, with a number of trio and duo combinations with solo musicians for weddings and corporate engagements.
The Centre Music School also caters for lessons in a large range of over twenty musical instruments, and features a number of performing ensembles including our Woodwind, Jazz and Classical Ensembles with a Quavers Music Training for Youngsters Group, our Children’s Choir and a number of social ensembles such as our adult harp group.
The Irish Harp Centre is directed by Janet Harbison, one of Ireland’s most experienced, accomplished and world-travelled harpers. As well as a performer, she is also a widely published composer, academic, educator and orchestra director.
