king2_webThe Irish Harp Centre, directed by Dr Janet Harbison, is a college offering training in the Irish harp at all levels, from junior beginners to adult learners, from pastime to professionalism; from regular weekly lessons to residential weekend, week, month or trimester (3 months) courses; from full apprenticeship training (up to 3 years) to helping you set up an associate centre.   The Harbison Harp Method has produced, supported and launched the careers of many of Ireland’s leading harpers today and continues to prepare players for life-long enjoyment of music-making – or a career in stage and studio performance, teaching, background entertainment, ceremonial musicianship and palliative harp care.

Performing groups based at the Centre include the Irish Harp Orchestra (professional touring stage production), the National Harp OrchestraHarp Concerto, the Harbison  Harp Quartet, with a number of  trio and duo combinations  with solo musicians for weddings and corporate engagement.

Located in Castleconnell, County Limerick (one of the south-west of Ireland’s most attractive and musically active traditional villages 20 minutes from  Shannon Airport), the Irish Harp Centre is itself an outstanding 19th Century heritage schoolhouse built by the River Shannon in an area of outstanding beauty and wildlife with miles of walks and trails in every direction.
