Dr Janet Harbison’s Harp Training Method draws on the ancient oral tradition in a structured progression of lessons that invite students “to make their own music” – to “speak the language of music themselves” becoming natural and intuitive arrangers and accompanists as well as interpreters of harp music, old and new, ancient, modern or newly composed, and cognisant of all the styles and conventions – and varieties- of Irish harping through the ages.

The Harbison Harp Method is available to teachers and students world-wide – from the teachers at the Irish Harp Centre/Mid West Vocal Academy, at our associated teaching centres in Ireland and from a growing network of trained and qualified teachers throughout the world.
